Jason Klatt (born April 18, 1986 ) is a Canadian pool player .

Career

In 2003 Jason Klatt finished second in the Canadian Junior Championship, and in 2005 he finished third on the Viking Tour. At the SML Entertainment Championship he finished seventh in 2005 and fifth in 2006. At the US Open in 2006 Klatt reached 17th place. He finished third on the Canadian 20K Tour and the Seminole Pro Tour in 2006. At the 8-ball World Cup in 2007 , Klatt was eliminated in the sixteenth finals. In 2007 he also won a tournament each on the Joss Northeast Tour and the Canadian 30K Tour, in which he also came second twice. In 2008 he won a tournament on the Canadian 9-Ball Tour, as well as the Pennsylvania State 9-Ball Championships and the season finale of the Canadian 30K Tour. At the Carolina 10-Ball Open, he was third.

At the US Open 2009 Klatt reached 33rd place, at the Steve Mizerak Championship he came 17th. In 2010 Klatt reached the sixteenth finals at the World Pool Masters . At the 9-ball world championship he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Johnny Archer . At the China Open Klatt was ninth, at the US Open 2010 he was fifth.

In February 2011 Klatt retired in the preliminary round of the 8-Ball World Cup . After winning the NYC 9-Ball Championship in March, he finished third in the Ultimate 10-Ball Championship. In May he reached the round of 16 of the 10-Ball World Cup , but lost to Tony Drago . At the 9-Ball World Cup 2011 he was eliminated without a win in the preliminary round. At the World Pool Masters 2011 reached the quarterfinals, in which he lost to Fu Jianbo . In 2012 Klatt was defeated in the round of 64 of the 9-ball world championship to the later vice world champion Li Hewen with 9:11.

In March 2013 Klatt won the US Bar Box Championship in 8-ball, in June he won the Canadian Championship in 8-ball and was also second in 9-ball and third in 10-ball. At the 9-ball World Cup , he was eliminated in the preliminary round. At the Derby City Classic 2014, Klatt came third in 9-ball. In March 2014 he finished fourth in the US Bar Box Championship in 10-Ball, in April he won the Canadian 9-Ball Championship. At the 9-ball world championship , he was eliminated in the round of 32 against Carlo Biado . In September 2014, Klatt finished third at the American 14.1 Championship and seventh at the 2014 US Open .

Klatt has taken part in the World Cup of Pool three times so far . In 2009 , he retired together with Tyler Edey in the first round. In 2010 and 2011 he formed the Canadian team together with John Morra . After they were eliminated in the first round in 2010, they reached the second round in 2011, in which they were defeated by the Filipinos Ronato Alcano and Dennis Orcollo .

In 2010 and 2012 , Klatt was part of the Canadian team at the Team World Cup . After the preliminary round in 2010, he reached the quarter-finals with the team in 2012.
