128 players took part in the tournament. In the preliminary round it was played in the double knockout system . This means: After the first game, the players were divided into a winning round and a losing round. Whoever was in the winning round only had to prevail in one game against another player who had won in the first round to get to the final round. In the losers round, however, you first had to assert yourself against another player who lost in the first game and then win against a loser from the winning round. 64 players qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system .
