Aloysius Yapp (also Aloisius Yapp ; born May 2, 1996 ) is a Singaporean pool player .

Career

Aloysius Yapp started at the age of nine with the billiards . In September 2012 he reached 33rd place at the China Open . In December 2012 he moved into the semi-finals of the Junior World Championship , in which he lost 7: 9 to the German Tobias Bongers . At the 9-ball world championship in 2013 he was eliminated without a win in the preliminary round. At the All Japan Open 2013 he lost to the eventual winner Ko Pin-yi in the round of 32 . A few weeks later he reached the semi-finals of the Junior World Championship , which he lost 4-8 to eventual world champion Ko Ping-chung . In June 2014 he reached the finals of the 9-Ball World Cup for the first time. In the round of the last 64, however, he lost 8:11 to Nick van den Berg . In November 2014, Yapp became world champion of the U-19 juniors with a 11:10 final win against Taiwanese Hsu Jui-an . At the All Japan Open he reached the round of 32 and lost to Chang Jung-Lin .

In February 2015, Yapp was eliminated from the preliminary round of the 10-Ball World Cup . In April 2015, Yapp took part in a Euro Tour tournament, the Portugal Open , for the first time, where he reached the second round, which he lost to Francisco Sánchez . At the 2015 Southeast Asian Games , he and Toh Lian Han won the bronze medal in 9-ball doubles. At the China Open 2015 , Yapp made it to the round of 32. In September 2015, after victories against Darren Appleton , Naoyuki Ōi and Alexander Kazakis, he reached the quarter-finals of the 9-Ball World Championship , which he won 7:11 against the Chinese Wu Jiaqing lost. At the Japan Open 2015 he was eliminated in the round of sixteen against Satoshi Kawabata .

So far, Yapp has participated in the World Cup of Pool three times and formed the Taiwanese team there with Chan Keng Kwang . After they were eliminated in the first round in 2012 , they reached the second round in 2013 , which they lost to eventual winners Lee Van Corteza and Dennis Orcollo . In 2015 they lost to the Finns Mika Immonen and Petri Makkonen in the round of 16 .

With the Singapore national team, Yapp took part in the team world championships in 2012 and 2014 . In 2012 the team was eliminated in the preliminary round and in 2014 in the round of 16.
