Tobias Bongers (born February 3, 1995 in Duisburg ) is a German pool and snooker player .

Career

Tobias Bongers started playing billiards at the age of 10 . After becoming German U17 9-ball champion in 2010 , Bongers won the bronze medal in 8-ball at the European youth championship in August 2011 and in 14/1 endlessly for pupils and was European pupil champion with the German team. In 2012 he became German U19 champion in the 9-ball and 10-ball disciplines . At the European Youth Championships in 2012 , he was in the final against the Spaniard Jose Alberto Delgado Hernandez, vice European champion in the 10-ball for pupils and European champion with the German junior team. In December 2012 he reached the final of the Junior World Championship , but lost there to the Taiwanese Liu Cheng-chieh 5: 9. After he became German 8-ball champion in the U19 Juniors in 2013, he became the European 14/1 champion in the final against Sebastian Batkowski from Poland in the final of the 2013 European Junior Championships . In addition, he won the bronze medal in 9-ball, 10-ball and with the team.

In June 2013, Bongers finished ninth in 9-ball at the Deurne City Classic. In April 2014 he was a 3: 2 victory in the final against January Joachim German U19 champion in snooker . In the semifinals, Bongers had defeated the reigning German men's champions, Lukas Kleckers , 2-1. At the Deurne City Classic 2014, Bongers finished second in the 14/1 shootout and seventeenth in 9-ball against Joshua Filler in the final . Two weeks later, at the Austria Open , he made it into the finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time . However, he was eliminated in the round of 32 against Denis Grabe , the eventual winner of the tournament. In January 2016, he reached the round of 16 at the final tournament of the German Tour 2015 , in which he was defeated by Philippine Efren Reyes with 2: 7. At the Derby City Classic 2016 he was seventeenth in the 9-ball competition.

In the 2009/10 season, Bongers took second place in the major league with the BC Parkecke-Hochfeld . He then moved to BC Oberhausen and played with its second team in the regional league. In the 2011/12 season he was third in the Oberliga with BU Mönchengladbach / Kempen . He then moved to the 1st PBC Neuwerk , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2014 and took first place in the individual rankings. In the 2014/15 season , he made promotion to the 1st Bundesliga with the Neuwerkers . However, Bongers switched to regional league team Joker Kamp-Lintfort , with whom he rose to the second division in 2016.

In the 2014/15 season he played with 1. SC Dortmund in the 1. Snooker Bundesliga .
