The WPA 10-Ball World Cup in 2015 (officially: WPA World 10-Ball Championship in 2015 ) was the fourth edition of the WPA discharged World Cup in 10-Ball - Pool . It took place from February 17th to 21st, 2015 at the SM City Activity Center in General Santos , Philippines .

The Taiwanese Ko Pin-yi became world champion with an 11: 9 victory in the final against the Filipino Carlo Biado . In the semi-finals Ko had defeated his younger brother Ko Ping-chung , Biado won against the Spaniard David Alcaide . The defending champion was the Dutchman Huidji See , who won the 2011 World Cup but did not take part this year. The two German participants Thorsten Hohmann and Ralf Souquet both dropped out early. While Hohmann was eliminated after two preliminary round games, Souquet reached the round of 64, but lost there against Johann Chua . Mario He and Albin Ouschan from Austria took part. He was eliminated without a win in the preliminary round, Ouschan in the round of 64 against Lee Van Corteza . Darren Appleton , the 2008 10-ball world champion , lost to Filipino Warren Kiamco in the round of sixteen . The 2009 winner , Mika Immonen , was eliminated in the preliminary round, as was the reigning U-19 junior world champion Aloysius Yapp . The reigning 9-ball world champion Niels Feijen did not take part in the tournament.

The Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao successfully campaigned for the WPA to choose his hometown General Santos, in which he has already organized several pool tournaments, as the venue for the 2015 10-ball World Cup.

128 players from over 20 countries took part in the tournament. About a third of the players came from the Philippines. From February 15 to 16, 2015, a qualification tournament took place in the SM City Activity Center , in which some of the starting places were played.

A total of 200,000 US dollars in prize money was distributed, of which the world champion received 40,000 US dollars.

The 128 participating players were initially reduced to 64 in the double knockout system . Then the tournament was continued in the knockout system . The game was played in an alternating break, the goals were nine games in the preliminary round and eleven in the final round.

Preliminary round

The preliminary round took place from February 17th to 19th.
