Ibrahim Bin Amir (born May 10, 1961 ) is a Malaysian pool player .

Career

After he was eliminated in the preliminary round, Ibrahim Bin Amir reached the round of 64 at the 9-ball World Cup in 2005 and was defeated there by the Hungarian Vilmos Földes . At the 9-ball world championships in 2006 and 2007 , he was eliminated again in the preliminary round. In July 2007 he made it into the final at the Asian-9-Ball-Tour tournament in Singapore , which he lost 8:11 to Yang Ching-shun from Taiwan . In December 2007, he won the bronze medal in 8-ball at the 2007 Southeast Asian Games . In April 2008, Bin Amir came in 33rd place at the 8-Ball World Cup . At the 10-Ball World Championships in 2008 and 2009 , he was eliminated in the preliminary round. In July 2010 he reached the sixteenth finals of the 9-Ball World Cup and was defeated there by the eventual vice world champion Kuo Po-Cheng by just 10:11. At the 2010 Asian Games , 8-Ball made it into the final, losing 4-7 to Kuo Po-Cheng. In 2011 Bin Amir reached the round of the last 64 at the 10-Ball World Cup and was eliminated in the preliminary round of the 9-Ball World Cup . At the 10-ball world championship in 2015 , the end in the preliminary round followed.

Bin Amir has participated in the World Cup of Pool seven times so far . After reaching the round of 16 together with Patrick Ooi in 2006 , he was eliminated in the first round in 2008 , 2009 and 2010 with Lee Poh Soon . He then formed the Malaysian team again in 2011 and 2012 with Patrick Ooi, which reached the round of 16 in 2011 and lost to the eventual winners Thorsten Hohmann and Ralf Souquet . In 2014 he retired with Alan Tan in the first round.

With the Malaysian national team, Bin Amir took part in the team world championship in 2012 and 2014 and was eliminated in the preliminary round.

Bin Amir currently lives in Sabah .
