Toh Lian Han ( Chinese  卓連漢 * January 3, 1972 in Singapore ) is a Singaporean pool player .

Career

From 2004, Toh Lian Han took part in the San Miguel Asian 9-Ball Tour . His best result in the tournament series he achieved in April 2005 when he finished fifth at the tournament in Jakarta . In the same year he won his first medal at the Southeast Asian Games . Together with Chan Keng Kwang he reached third place in the 9-ball double competition. In 2006 he took part in the 9-Ball World Championship for the first time and was eliminated in the group stage after winning against South African Junaine Nicholas and losing to Vilmos Földes and Hsia Hui-kai . In 2007 he was eliminated again in the preliminary round. A little later he reached the round of 16 at the All Japan Championship . At the 2007 Southeast Asian Games , he and Chan won the silver medal in 9-ball doubles after losing the final to Antonio Gabica and Marlon Manalo from the Philippines . In 2009 Toh was eliminated from the preliminary round of the 10-ball World Cup without a win and again won the bronze medal in 9-ball doubles at the Southeast Asian Games . The preliminary rounds followed again at the 9-ball world championships in 2010 and 2012 . In the 9-ball competition of the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games 2013 he reached the quarterfinals, in which he lost 8: 9 to Abdullah al-Yousef . In September 2013 he moved into the final round for the first time at the 9-Ball World Cup with wins against Giorgio Margola and Jason Klatt . There he defeated Bu Hong Kong 11: 5 before he had to admit defeat to Taiwanese Hsu Kai-lun with 9:11 in the round of 32 . At the beginning of 2015 Toh was again without a win at the 10-Ball World Cup . In June 2015 he won his fourth medal at the Southeast Asian Games when he and Aloysius Yapp finished third in 9-ball doubles. At the 9-Ball World Cup in 2015 , he reached the round of 32, in which he lost 7:11 to David Alcaide . A year later he made it back to the sixteenth finals and was only just defeated by the Indonesian Muhammad Simanjuntak with 10:11.

Toh has been part of the Singaporean team four times at the World Cup of Pool . In his first four participations he formed the team with Chan Keng Kwang. After they were eliminated in the first round in 2006 against the Americans Earl Strickland and Rodney Morris , they reached the quarter-finals in 2007 with wins against Germany ( Oliver Ortmann and Christian Reimering ) and Austria ( Martin Kempter and Dejan Dabovic ), in which they scored 5: 9 lost to the Japanese Naoyuki Ōi and Satoshi Kawabata . It was Singapore's best result so far at the World Cup of Pool. The following year Singapore was not represented at the tournament. Toh and Chan were eliminated in the first round in 2009 and 2010 . In 2017 Toh will form the Singaporean doubles together with Aloysius Yapp.

With the Singaporean national team, Toh took part in the team world championship twice ( 2012 , 2014 ) and reached the second round in 2014.

In 2004 Toh reached the semi-finals of the Singapore Snooker Championship and was eliminated 3: 5 against Chan Keng Kwang .
