Antonio Gabica (born October 2, 1972 ) is a Filipino pool player . He was runner-up in 9-ball world champion in 2013 .

Career

In 1999 Gabica won the silver medal in the 9-ball and bronze in the 14/1 endless at the German championship . Four years later he finished third in the WPA World Tour tournament in Tokyo. In the 9-ball World Cup 2004 , he finished 33rd in the US Open , he was 2006 seventh. In 2007 he lost in the final of the US Bar Table Championship against fellow countryman Warren Kiamco . At the 9-Ball World Cup he was eliminated in the last 64 against Shane van Boening . Gabica had previously won the Philippines Open and then won the World 9-Ball Challenge. In 2008 he was eliminated from both the 8-Ball World Cup and the 10-Ball World Cup in the preliminary round and won the Mandaluyong Mayor's Cup. On the Asian 9-Ball-Tour he lost the final of the third tournament against the Taiwanese Chang Jung-Lin , in the season finale he was fifth. At the Japan Open 2008 he was third, also at the Qatar International Open 2009. At the China Open 2009 he reached 33rd place, at the 10-Ball World Cup he was eliminated again in the preliminary round. In the round of 16 of the 8-Ball World Cup 2010 Gabica lost to his compatriot Joven Alba , in the round of 64 of the 9-Ball World Cup to England's Craig Osborne . In 2011 he finished 33rd at the 10-Ball World Cup , and in the last 16 of the 9-Ball World Cup he lost to England's Mark Gray . At the US Open he also reached 33rd place. In 2012 Gabica reached the quarter-finals of the 9-Ball World Cup , in 2013 he only lost in the final against the German Thorsten Hohmann . In 2014 he lost in the round of 16 against the Austrian Albin Ouschan .
