Nikos Ekonomopoulos ( Greek Νίκος Οικονομόπουλος Nikos Ikonomopoulos , also: Nick Ekonomopoulos ; born February 22, 1982 in Athens ) is a Greek pool player .

Career

At the European Youth Championships in 1998 Nikos Ekonomopoulos won the bronze medal in 14/1 endless of the students and with the Greek team. A year later he became vice European junior champion in 14/1 endless and in 8-ball as well as with the team. In 2000 he became 8-ball European junior champion by beating Dimitri Jungo in the final . He also won the silver medal in the 14/1 endless individual and with the junior team. In March 2000 he reached the last sixteen of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time at the Italy Open .

At the Italy Open 2007 he reached the round of 16 and was eliminated from Ralf Souquet . In August 2008 he came in 49th place in the men's European 8-ball championship . At the 2009 European Championships , he made it into the finals for the first time. After he was knocked out endlessly in the 14/1 finals, he moved into the final in 8-ball, in which he lost to Andreas Roschkowsky 7: 8. In the final 9-ball competition, he was eliminated again in the round of 32. In 2010 he reached the round of 16 in 14/1, which he lost with 111: 125 against Mario He .

Ekonomopoulos has taken part in the World Cup of Pool three times and always formed the Greek team together with Alexander Kazakis . In 2013 they reached the round of 16 and lost to the Taiwanese team. In 2014 they were defeated by the eventual winners Darren Appleton and Karl Boyes from England in the round of 16 with 1: 7. In 2015 they were eliminated in the first round.

With the Greek national team he reached third place at the 2010 Team World Cup .
