Ivo Aarts (born October 26, 1993 ) is a Dutch pool player . He became in 2014 Vice European Champion in the 10-Ball .

Career

Ivo Aarts started playing billiards at the age of eight . In 2008 and 2009 he won bronze in the 14/1 Endless Schoolchildren at the European Youth Championship . With the school team he was European champion in 2009. In 2010 he reached third place in the 9-ball juniors .

In October 2012, Aarts reached the finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time . In the sixteenth finals of the North Cyprus Open , however, he was eliminated against Alexander Kazakis . At the 2013 European Championships , Aarts reached the semi-finals in 9-ball and was defeated there by the Serbian Zoran Svilar with 1: 9. At the Austria Open he was eliminated in the round of 32 against Kazakis. In July 2013 he finished third at the Benelux Open. At the 9-Ball World Cup in September, Aarts was eliminated in the round of 64 against defending champion Darren Appleton . At the North Cyprus Open 2013 Aarts achieved his best result so far on the Euro Tour. In the quarter-finals he was defeated by the later finalist Daniele Corrieri 3: 9. At the 2014 European Championship , Aarts managed to make it into the final in 10-ball , but lost it 4-8 against David Alcaide . A few days later he lost in the round of 16 of the North Cyprus Open to the eventual winner of the tournament, Ralf Souquet . In May 2014 Aarts finished ninth in the 9-ball tournament of the Deurne City Classic. At the 9-Ball World Cup in 2014 , he was eliminated in the preliminary round.

Aarts has been playing for the 1st PBC Hürth-Berrenrath since 2012 . With he rose in the 2012/13 season in the 1st Bundesliga .
