Dominik Mayländer (born March 20, 1995 ) is a German ski jumper .

Career

Mayländer, who started for SC Degenfeld , made his international debut at the FIS Junior Jumping in Hinterzarten in July 2008. In 2009, he became Swabian School Champion. In July 2011 he made his debut in the FIS Cup in Gérardmer . With places 16 and 17, he immediately jumped into the top 20. Subsequently, until January 2013 he started alternately in the FIS and the Alpine Cup. After good performance there, he got a place in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup in Titisee-Neustadt . After a good 16th place in the first competition, he only just missed his first podium in fourth in the second competition. He also performed well in Planica and clearly jumped into the points.

Also in summer 2013 he got good points in the Continental Cup. At the German Championships in Oberstdorf in 2013 , he won the silver medal in team jumping together with Maximilian Mechler , Martin Schmitt and his cousin Jan Mayländer . At the Junior World Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme Mayländer jumped to 38th place in the individual, before reaching fifth place with the team in the team competition. In March he achieved his first podium place in this series with third place in the Chaux-Neuve Alpine Cup .

In the summer of 2014 Mayländer received a starting place in the A-team for the Ski Jumping Grand Prix 2014 . With an 11th place in Einsiedeln , he collected first points. In the end he finished 54th in the Grand Prix overall ranking with 24 points. In October he was third again on the podium at the Alpencup in Tschagguns . In the winter of 2014/15 Mayländer was again placed in the B-team and continues to compete in the Continental Cup, but there were no points successes in the first competitions until the turn of the year.
