Italian Open 2016

The Diamond Nine / Dynamic Billard Italian Open 2016 was the 141st tournament in the Euro-Tour pool billiards tournament series . They took place from February 25 to 27, 2016 at the BHR Treviso Hotel in Treviso and were played in the 9-ball discipline . For the twelfth time, a Euro Tour tournament was held in the northern Italian provincial capital, and for the 23rd time in Italy .

The Pole Mieszko Fortuński won the tournament with a 9: 6 victory in the final against the German Ralf Souquet .

Defending champion Niels Feijen was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Fortuński. The Englishman Mark Gray , who won the 140th Euro Tour tournament with the Treviso Open 2015 , lost to the Greek Nikos Ekonomopoulos in the quarter-finals .

Final round

From the sixteenth finals, the games were played in the knockout system . The 32 participants in this round were determined in a double knockout system .
