Portugal Open 2017

The Diamond Nine / Dynamic Billard Portuguese Open in 2017 were the 148th Tournament of 9-Ball - Pool Billiard Tournament Series Euro tour . They took place from March 30th to April 1st, 2017 in the Salgados Palace Hotel in Albufeira ( Portugal ), where the European Championship was held immediately before .

The Dutchman Nick van den Berg defeated the Spaniard David Alcaide 9: 5 in the final and won a Euro Tour tournament for the tenth time. Third place went to Englishman Mark Gray and German Ralf Souquet , who won the previous Euro Tour tournament with the Italian Open 2017 . The defending champion was the Pole Mateusz Śniegocki , who was eliminated in the round of 32 against Mats Schjetne . Marc Bijsterbosch reached the quarter-finals as the best of the four previously determined European champions. Niels Feijen was eliminated in the round of 32, Ruslan Tschinachow and Jani Uski already in the preliminary round.

The Portugal Open 2017 was the last tournament that was included in the European qualification for the World Games 2017 . David Alcaide and the German Joshua Filler qualified as first or second place of the one-year ranking of the Euro-tour for the 9-Ball competition of the multi-sport event in the Polish Wroclaw .

Final round

The 194 participants initially competed against each other in a double knockout system . 32 players qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system .
