The 2017 European pool championship was a pool tournament that took place from March 18 to 28, 2017 at the Salgados Palace Hotel in Albufeira in the Algarve . The Portuguese Billiard Association was after 2015 of the European Pool Billiard Association for the second time host EPBF organized continental championship.

A total of 195 participants from 34 countries took part in the 13 competitions in the 8-ball , 9-ball , 10-ball and 14/1 endless disciplines .

The most successful player was the Finn Jouni Tahti , who was European champion in 8-ball and 9-ball and third in 10-ball among wheelchair users. Marc Bijsterbosch , Jasmin Ouschan and Kurt Deklerck each won a gold and a silver medal in the individual competitions. The Russian Kristina Tkatsch was in 14/1 endless and with the national team European champion. Russia and Finland were the most successful nations with three gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

In the men's and the women was the 9-Ball competition of the European Championship, a qualifying tournament for the World Games 2017 : Ruslan Tschinachow , Ronald Regli , Kelly Fisher and Natalya Seroschtan qualified as finalists for the 9-Ball competition of the multi-sport event in the Polish Wroclaw .

mode

In all competitions, the double knockout system was initially played. This mode was used until there was only a certain number of participants in the tournament (64 for men, 16 for women, 8 for wheelchair users and 8 and 4 respectively for teams). Then it was played in the knockout system .
