The 2016 European Youth Pool Billiards Championship was the 36th edition of the continental youth championship in the pool version of pool . It took place from July 25th to August 1st, 2016 in the Tirana Expo Center in the Albanian capital Tirana . The disciplines 8-ball , 9-ball , 10-ball and 14/1 were played endlessly in the categories juniors (U19), schoolchildren (U17) and juniors.
The most successful player in the European Championship was the German Patrick Hofmann , who won three of the four junior competitions in singles and was European champion with the German junior team. Maxim Dudanez from Russia won the 10-ball title and was twice European runner-up in singles, including in the 14/1 endless discipline, in which he was the defending champion. The then U17 world champion Daniel Macioł now competed in the U19 age group and won two silver and one bronze medals.
Wiktor Zieliński from Poland and Sanjin Pehlivanović from Bosnia and Herzegovina each won two titles among the pupils . While Zieliński was European champion for the first time, Pehlivanović was this now for the fourth time, where he managed to defend his title in the 8-ball. The two-time defending champion Fyodor Gorst won a silver and a bronze medal. Germany won the student team competition in the final against Russia.
The Russian Kristina Tkatsch , who competed as defending champion in 9-ball and 10-ball, won all three junior competitions.
With a total of five European Championship titles and five bronze medals, Germany is the most successful nation at this European Championship.

All competitions were played in the double knockout system until only a certain number of participants remained and then continued in the knockout system . In the individual competitions for juniors and schoolchildren, the game was played in knockout mode from the round of 32, in team competitions from the quarter-finals and in competitions for women from the semi-finals.
