The Pool Championship 1985 was the European Pool Billiard Association EPBF in St. Johann im Pongau in Austria being transmitted snooker tournament .

The disciplines 8-ball , 14/1 endless and for the first time also 9-ball were played out . For the men, the European team champions were also determined for the first time.

In the men's category, Swedes Jurgen Karlsson , Björn Jonsson and Ulf Hjalmvall became European champions. Jonsson was the 8-ball his title from the previous year, thus successfully defended. The German Uwe Sander became vice European champion in 9-ball. Wolfgang Becker won bronze in 8-ball, Edgar Nickel in 14/1 endlessly.

The German team around Thomas Engert , Ralf Souquet , Rolf Alex , Edgar Nickel and Uwe Sander became European champions in the final against Sweden.

In the women's category , Eva Eleholt was the third time European champion in 14/1 after 1982 and 1984. Anke Cronquist became 8-ball European champion, Heide Andersson won the 9-ball title. Birgitte Verwaltung and Margit Schlosser won bronze in the 14/1 endless and in the 8 ball respectively.
