The 2006 European pool championship was a pool tournament that was held from March 23 to April 1, 2006 in the Stahlpalast in Brandenburg an der Havel . After 1980 and 1987 , the EM took place in Germany for the third time .

The disciplines 8-ball , 9-ball and 14/1 were played out endlessly for men, women and wheelchair users, although there was no 14/1 endless competition for wheelchair users.

The German Oliver Ortmann became endless in 14/1 and European champion in 8-ball. He won the final in 14/1 endlessly against Ralf Souquet , in 8-ball he defeated the Finn Aki Heiskanen . The German Souquet became 9-ball European champion in the final against the Swiss Marco Tschudi . Christian Reimering won another medal for the German Billard Union with bronze in 14/1 .

In the women's category, Austrian Jasmin Ouschan , who won the title in 14/1 endless and 9-ball last year , was European champion in 14/1 endless and 8-ball. In 14/1 she defeated the German Janine Schwan endlessly . In the 8-ball final, Ouschan defeated the German Daniela Benz . Benz had won bronze endlessly in the 14/1. In the 9-ball Ouschan only reached third place. The Norwegian Line Kjørsvik became 9-ball European champion in the final against the Danish Katrine Jensen .

As in the previous year, the Finn Jouni Tahti was 8-ball European champion in the final against the Swede Henrik Larsson . The Englishman Roy Kimberley , who won bronze in the 8-ball, was 9-ball European champion in the final against the Scot Matt Duffy . The German Tankred Volkmer won the bronze medal in the 9-ball.
