Kristina Olegowna Tkatsch ( Russian Кристина Олеговна Ткач ; English transcription: Kristina Tkach ; born January 19, 1999 in Moscow ) is a Russian pool player . She became European champion in 8-ball in 2016 and endless in 14/1 in 2017 . In addition, she was nine times European Junior Champion and 2017 Junior World Champion .

Career

After finishing third in the Russian U18 championship in 2008 in 8-ball , Kristina Tkatsch reached the final of the 14/1 endless competition of the Moscow U18 city championship in 2009 and reached the women's semi-finals in 9-ball . The following year she won her first two of a total of 20 titles at the Moscow U18 championships in the juniors in 9-ball and 10-ball . At the women's city championship, she reached the final a little later in 14/1, which she lost to Anna Maschirina at 18:50 .

In March 2012 she was the first Russian U18 champion in 8-ball with a 5-4 final win against Natalja Seroschtan . In the summer of 2012 she was nominated for the first time for the European Youth Championship , where she was the youngest medalist at the age of 13 years and 7 months. She had reached the semi-finals in the 8-ball and lost to Kamila Khodjaeva . A few weeks later she won the Moscow 14/1 endless championship for women in the final against Seroshtan. In November 2012, she won the bronze medals in 14/1 endless and 8-ball when she participated in the Russian championship for the first time , after losing to Natalja Seroshtan in the semifinals. At the beginning of 2013, Tkatsch managed to defend his title in the Russian U18 championship in 8-ball. At the European Youth Championships in 2013 , she reached the semi-finals in the 10-ball and 9-ball disciplines. In October 2013, she won three of the four women's titles at the Moscow City Championship. A month later she made it into the final of the Russian championship for the first time, but lost to Anna Maschirina (10-ball) and Darja Sirotina (9-ball). In addition, she finished endlessly in 14/1 and third in 8-ball.

In March 2014 Tkach became the Russian U18 champion in the disciplines 14/1 endless, 10-ball and 9-ball. In the 8-ball, on the other hand, she lost the final against Natalja Seroschtan after winning two titles in a row. In the same year she was nominated for the first time for the European Women's Championship . After she was knocked out endlessly in the 14/1 and in the 10-ball in the preliminary round, she reached the quarter-finals in the 8-ball, in which she was narrowly defeated by the Belgian Kamila Khodjaeva with 5: 6. In the 9-ball competition, she was also eliminated in the preliminary round. After the European Championships, Tkatsch took part in a Euro Tour tournament for the first time and immediately won her first medal: She made it to the finals at the North Cyprus Open and lost to the Austrian Jasmin Ouschan . In August she became the European junior champion in 8-ball with a 5-4 final win against Kamila Khodjaeva . In October she again won three titles at the Moscow Championship. A month later she became Russian champion for the first time with a 75:46 win against Dina Fatychowa in 14/1 and then won silver in 10-ball and bronze in 8-ball and 9-ball.

At the beginning of 2015, Tkatsch became the Russian U18 champion in all four disciplines for the first time. At the EM 2015 she reached the quarter-finals in 14/1 and endless in 9-ball. At the European Youth Championships she became European champion in 10-ball and 9-ball and third in 8-ball by winning the final against Diana Khodjaeva . In September she won the Moscow City Championship in 14/1 endless and 10-ball. In November 2015, she reached the quarter-finals of the Junior World Championship , where she was defeated by the Chinese Jiang Teng 5-9 . A few days later, with a 7-2 final victory against Dina Fatychowa, she became Russian 10-ball champion and runner-up in 14/1 endless and 9-ball.

At the Russian U18 championship in 2016, Tkatsch defended his title in three of the four disciplines. Only in 14/1 she lost the final against Dina Fatychowa. At the EM 2016 , she achieved her greatest success to date. After she was knocked out endlessly in the preliminary round in 14/1 and in the quarterfinals in 10-ball, she moved into the final in 8-ball, in which she became European champion with a 6-3 win against Ukrainian Kateryna Polovyntschuk . In the subsequent 9-ball competition, she was eliminated in the preliminary round. In June 2016, she won the North Cyprus Open, where she defeated Marharyta Fjafilawa 7-3 in the final, a Euro Tour tournament for the first time. A few weeks later, she became the first woman to become a European junior champion in all three disciplines . She won the finals against Diana Khodjaeva (5: 3, 10 ball), Dina Fatychowa (5: 1, 8 ball) and again Diana Khodjaeva (6: 5, 9 ball). A few days later she won the Albanian Open by beating Katarzyna Wesołowska 7-4 in the final , taking first place in the Euro Tour rankings for the first time.

In September 2016, she won the Moscow championship in 10-ball and 9-ball. A week later Tkatsch defeated the German Ina Kaplan 7: 4 in the final of the Portugal Open and thus won a Euro Tour tournament for the third time in a row. In November 2016, she was the only woman to reach the round of 32 at the Kremlin Cup alongside Darja Sirotina and was eliminated by Denis Grabe . A little later she was eliminated in the preliminary round of the Junior World Championships . At the Russian championship in 2016 , she made it to the finals in all four competitions. At first she won endlessly against Natalja Seroschtan in 14/1 and lost to her just 6: 7 in 10-Ball. Then Tkatsch defeated Darja Sirotina (6: 2) in 8-ball and Anastassija Netschajewa (6: 1) in 9-ball .

In March 2017, Tkatsch came 25th at the Amway Cup . A little later she became the Russian U18 champion in 14/1, 10-ball and 9-ball. At the 2017 European Championships , she became European champion in the 14/1 endlessly with a 75:45 final win against defending champion Jasmin Ouschan. In the three following individual competitions, however, she did not get beyond the quarter-finals. At the Portugal Open that followed the European Championship, she won her fifth Euro Tour medal after losing 7-3 to Ouschan in the final. As runner-up in the one-year ranking of the Euro Tour after the Portugal Open, she qualified for the 9-ball competition of the World Games 2017 . In May 2017 she won the bronze medal at the Austrian Open 2017. At the World Games in Wroclaw , she was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the later gold medalist Chen Siming , after she had previously defeated the Englishwoman Kelly Fisher . At the 2017 European Youth Championship , she again won all three junior competitions. In the finals she defeated Daryna Siranchuk (5: 0, 10-ball), Weronika Karwik (5: 0, 8-ball), Valerija Trushevskaya (6: 1, 9-ball). In September she won the Moscow championship in 8-ball and 9-ball. In November 2017, she became Junior World Champion with a 9: 6 final win against South Korean Lee Woo-jin . She was the fifth European to win this title and the second Russian after Natalja Seroschtan (2013). A little later she was eliminated from the women's 9-ball world championship in Haikou after losing to Rubilen Amit and Lin Yuan-chun in the preliminary round. At the Portugal Open she won the bronze medal after losing to Katarzyna Wesołowska in the semi-finals. At the 2017 Russian championship , she became the first ever player to win all four titles in one year. She won the finals against Natalia Seroshtan (14/1 endless and 9-ball), Valerija Truschewskaja (10-ball) and Darja Sirotina (8-ball).

Team career

With the Russian national team, Tkatsch was European champion in 2015 and 2017 and vice-European champion in 2014 and 2016 .

Tkatsch was part of the European team that defeated the USA three times in a row in the first three events of the junior-continental comparison Atlantic Challenge Cup (2015, 2016, 2017).
