Kateryna Ihoriwna Polowyntschuk ( Ukrainian Катерина Ігорівна Половинчук , English transcription: Kateryna Polovinchuk ; born November 24, 1995 in Kiev ) is a Ukrainian pool player . She is the Ukrainian record champion with 19 titles and became vice European champion in the 8-ball discipline in 2016 .

Kateryna Polowyntschuk began at the age of 11 years with billiards . In 2008 she won her first medal at the Ukrainian championship when she reached the semifinals in the 14/1 endless competition and lost to Wiktorija Nahorna 9:50. A year later she won the bronze medal in the 10-ball . In April 2010 she won her first tournament win at the Ukrainian Cup. In June she became Ukrainian junior champion in all four disciplines (14/1 endless, 8-ball , 9-ball , 10-ball). A little later, she took part in the European Youth Championship for the first time and reached the quarter-finals in the 10-ball, among other things. In December 2010 she moved into the finals of the Ukrainian women's championship in 14/1 for the first time and lost 20:75 against Wiktorija Nahorna. The next day she met Nahorna again in the 8-ball final. This time Polovyntschuk prevailed 6: 3 and became Ukrainian champion for the first time shortly after her 15th birthday. In the 10-Ball she was third after a semi-final defeat against Nahorna.

2011 Polowyntschuk was first for the women's European Championship nominated. In the summer of 2011 she again won all four titles at the Ukrainian Junior Championship. At the 2011 European Youth Championship , she missed the finals in all three competitions. At the end of 2011 she became three times Ukrainian champion . After she was knocked out endlessly in the semi-finals in 14/1, she defeated in the finals Olha Haschkowa 6: 5 (8-ball), Marija Butscharskaya 7: 3 (9-ball) and Daryna Krasnoschon 7: 2 (10- Ball). At the EM 2012 she made it into the finals for the first time. She reached the quarter-finals in 14/1 endlessly and the last sixteen in 8-ball. In the same year she was again four times national junior champion. A little later she won her first medal at the European Youth Championships . She moved into the final of the 8-ball competition, in which she lost 2: 5 to Belgian Kamila Khodjaeva . At the Ukrainian championship in 2012 she succeeded in winning the first title in the 14/1 endlessly with a 75:55 final win against Wiktorija Nahorna. In the 9-ball, she defended her title with a 7-1 final win against Alina Holubjewa . She also won the bronze medal in the 8-ball and silver in the 10-ball.

At the EM 2013 she reached the last sixteen in 9-ball. At the Ukrainian Junior Championship 2013, Polovyntschuk won in three disciplines. However, she lost the 10-ball final against Lyubov Schyhailowa . In August 2013 she became European youth champion in 9-ball with a 6-3 final win against Sabrina Hammer . In November, she won the final of the Ukrainian 9-Ball Cup in the final against Daryna Siranchuk . A little later she moved into the semi-finals of the Junior World Championship , in which she had to admit defeat to the Japanese Yuki Hiraguchi 2: 6. At the Ukrainian championship in 2013 she won the titles in 14/1 endless, 10-ball and for the third time in a row in 9-ball by winning the final against Daryna Krasnoschon and Wiktorija Nahorna. At the EM 2014 Polovyntschuk again reached a round of 16, this time in 14/1 endless. When she last participated in the Ukrainian Junior Championship, she won all four championship titles for the fourth time. At the end of 2014, after winning the final against Lyubov Shyhailova, she became Ukrainian champion in 14/1 endless and 8-ball and after defeats against Wiktorija Nahorna she was runner-up in 9-ball and 10-ball.

In 2015, Polovyntschuk won the final tournament of the Ukrainian 9-Ball Cup. At the Kremlin Cup 2015 she was eliminated in the preliminary round after losing to Alexander Kazakis and defending champion Ruslan Tschinachow . A little later, she achieved her first podium finish on the Euro Tour at the Treviso Open . She moved into the final with victories against Jasmin Ouschan , Kristina Tkatsch and Ina Kaplan , in which she was defeated by Poland's Oliwia Czupryńska 2: 7. In December 2015 she became Ukrainian champion in all disciplines . She had won the four finals against Viktorija Nahorna.

After she had not participated in the European Championship in the previous year, Polovyntschuk achieved her greatest success to date at the European Championships in 2016 . She reached the final in the 8-ball, in which she had to admit defeat to the Russian Kristina Tkatsch with 3: 6 despite a 3-1 lead. In June 2016 she won her second Euro Tour medal at the North Cyprus Open after losing to Tkach in the semi-final. Four months later she won the first tournament victory in the Baltic Pool League in Tallinn in the final against Agnė Jarušauskaitė . In November 2016 she won the final tournament of the Ukrainian 9-Ball Cup for the second time in a row. At the 2016 Ukrainian championship , she defended her title in the 14/1 endless and 8-ball disciplines with victories against Wiktorija Nahorna and Daryna Siranchuk. In 9-Ball, she was eliminated in the semifinals. She was unable to take part in the 10-ball competition because she was playing at the 9-ball world championship taking place in China at the same time . In Emeishan she reached the round of 32, in which she was defeated by Taiwanese Chou Chieh-yu 2: 9.

At the 2017 European Championships , Polovyntschuk made it to the semi-finals in the 10-ball and was defeated by the later European champion Amalia Matas . In September 2017 she won the Kaunas Open with a 7-1 final win against Evaldas Sutkus from Lithuania . A little later she reached the semifinals at the Klagenfurt Open and was eliminated by Chen Siming . At the 2017 Ukrainian championship , she took part in three of the four competitions and reached the final three times, each time facing Daryna Siranchuk. After Polovyntschuk had become Ukrainian champion for the sixth time in a row in 14/1 and for the fourth time in a row in 8-ball, she had to admit defeat 6: 7 in the 9-ball final.

December 2014 Polowyntschuk was at their first participation in a snooker tournament with a 3: 2 final victory against Daryna Sirantschuk Ukrainian champion . In 2015 she reached the semi-finals of the Ukrainian U21 championship.
