Ina Kaplan (* 14. May 1987 as Ina Jentschura ) is a German snooker player . She was eight times German champion .

Career

At the age of 17 Ina Kaplan started playing billiards at BSV Essen . At the German championship in 2007 Kaplan reached the quarter-finals in the 8-ball cup, in 2008 she was fifth in the 8-ball and came ninth in 14/1 . In 2009 Kaplan became German champion for the first time. With final victories against Kim Witzel and Simone Künzl , she won the title in 8-ball and 9-ball . In March 2010 Kaplan first took part in the European Championship . There she was in the final against the Austrian Jasmin Ouschan vice-European champion in 10-ball and was third in 9-ball. At the EM 2011 she reached ninth place in 10-ball and 14/1 endlessly. In November of the same year she was third in the 8-ball at the German championship . In 2012 Kaplan became German champion in 9-ball in the final against Daniela Benz and won the bronze medal in 8-ball and 10-ball. A few weeks later, she won her first medal on the women's Euro Tour with second place at the tournament in Guimarães . In March 2013 she was third at the Treviso . At the EM 2013 Kaplan reached the quarterfinals endlessly in 9-ball and 14/1. In August 2013 she finished 33rd at the 9-ball world championship . In November 2013 Kaplan won two gold medals and one silver medal at the German championship . At the 10-Ball World Cup , she was ninth. Kaplan came third on the Euro Tour in 2013 in St. Johann and won the tournament in Treviso in December. At the 2014 European Championships , Kaplan made it to the finals in 10-ball. There she was defeated by Katarzyna Wesolowska from Poland 2: 6. At the German Championship in 2014 , she became the second player after Franziska Stark ( 1991 ) to become German champion in three disciplines. In addition, she reached the final in 8-Ball, which she lost to Melanie Süßenguth . In December 2014, Kaplan came second at the Euro Tour tournament in Treviso.

Kaplan has been playing at BC Siegtal 89 since 2011 . With this she rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2013 and in 2014 to the 1st Bundesliga . In the 2014/15 season she was the first woman to play in the highest German pool league.

At the 2014 Team World Cup , Kaplan formed the German team with Thorsten Hohmann , Ralf Souquet and Sebastian Staab , which was eliminated by Japan in the quarter-finals.

Others

Ina Kaplan has been married to the pool player Jörn Kaplan since 2012 , with whom she won the German Mixed Championship in 2014. You have a child.

Kaplan is currently working as a research assistant in the German Studies department at the University of Siegen .
