Kelvin Creswell Rivers (better known as KC Rivers , born March 1, 1987 in Charlotte , North Carolina ) is an American basketball player . He plays in the position of the shooting guard . Rivers received Guinea-Bissau citizenship in 2014 .

career

KC Rivers began his career at Oak Hill Academy in Grayson County , Virginia . After graduating, he went to Clemson University , where he played for the Clemson Tigers in the NCAA's Atlantic Coast Conference from 2005 to 2009 . In the 2009 NBA draft , he was not elected by any team.

Rivers then moved to the Italian Legadue , where he began his first season as a professional at Latina Basket, but was signed by the first division Benetton Treviso in December 2009 due to his strong performance . With these he celebrated his debut in the ULEB Eurocup on January 5, 2010 against Cholet Basket . He then signed for the French club Chorale Roanne Basket , but moved back to Italy in January 2011, where he played the rest of the season for Virtus Bologna . In the summer of 2011, Rivers went to Russia , where he played one season each for Lokomotive Kuban and BK Chimki . With the latter he made his debut on October 11, 2012 against Fenerbahçe Ülker in the ULEB Euroleague .

He then left Europe and returned to the United States, where he averaged 15.8 points and 4 rebounds per game for the Reno Bighorns in the NBA Development League in 2013/14 .

In the summer of 2014 he signed for the Spanish first division club Real Madrid . With the capital city, he immediately won the Triple Crown consisting of the Spanish championship , the Spanish cup and the highest European club competition, the ULEB Euroleague .

On September 8, 2015, he signed a contract dated December 20 with FC Bayern Munich . During his time in Munich he achieved an average of 10.8 points in the ULEB Euroleague and led the team statistics with 15 points per game in the basketball Bundesliga . He then returned to Real Madrid.
