Cholet Basket is a French basketball club from Cholet in the Region Pays de la Loire . The club was founded in 1975 when one broke away from the basketball department of the Club Omnisports Choletais de la Jeune France , founded in 1926 . The club has an ambitious youth work, has produced several national players and has been national champions and cup winners several times in the youth and junior age groups.

history

The club started in the third division in 1975 and achieved promotion to the top division by 1987. Already in the first season of the first division qualified for a European cup competition. The team achieved the most successful season to date in 1997/98, when they won their first title in addition to third place in the championship and entry into the semi-finals of the championship as well as in the Korać Cup by winning the cup. In the following season they were able to confirm third place and defend the cup title, but this time they were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the championship play-offs and in the round of 16 of the Saporta Cup . The club celebrated its greatest successes in the recent past, when, after the greatest international success, the finals in the EuroChallenge Cup 2009, the first national championship title was achieved in 2010 .
