Hyères Toulon Var Basket is a French basketball club based in Hyères and Toulon in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region . The first team has been playing again in the top national league, LNB Pro A , since its promotion to the 2016/17 season .
history
founding
In 1990 the basketball departments of the Club Sportif Toulonnais and the Omni Sport Hyerois merged to compete in the second highest division National 1B after the rise of the Club Sportif Toulonnais .
In the 90s, the team played in the national 1B and Pro B (renamed for the 1993/94 season). At the end of the 2000/01 season, Hyères Toulon won the Pro B playoffs, qualifying for the LNB Pro A for the first time in history .
Promotion to the Pro A
After promotion to the 2001/02 season, the team was able to establish itself in the lower half of the table of the LNB Pro A.
In the 2008/09 season Hyères Toulon took part in the EuroChallenge 2008/09 . In the qualification you could prevail in round 1 against KK Cedevita Zagreb and in round 2 against CSU Asesoft Ploieşti . However, they only finished the first group stage in 3rd place and were eliminated.
In the seasons 2007/08 and 2010/11 could Hyeres Toulon qualify for the playoffs the Pro A, but both times failed in the quarter-finals.
The 2011/12 season ended after only 3 wins and 27 defeats in the last place in the table. This meant relegation to Pro B after 11 seasons in the top division.
Relegation to the Pro B
From the 2012/13 season, Hyères Toulon Var Basket played again in the second-highest division LNB Pro B.
The 2015/16 season ended as the first in the main round of the LNB Pro B and thus secured promotion to the LNB Pro A for the 2016/17 season.
