The 2017/18 season was the 25th season of the French Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro A , the top division in the French men's basketball club . It was the 96th championship in French men's basketball and the 31st championship since the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB) was founded . The main round started on September 22, 2017 and ended in May 2018 with the 34th and final game day. The play-off final round for the championship lasted until June 2018.
As the defending champion, Élan Sportif Chalonnais started the season. Four clubs competed in the 2017/18 Basketball Champions League: Chalon, Strasbourg IG , AS Monaco and Nanterre 92 . In addition, with ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne , Limoges CSP and the Levallois Metropolitans, three teams started in the EuroCup 2017/18 . ESSM Le Portel took part in the FIBA Europe Cup 2017/18 .
The newcomers to the 2017/18 season were Boulazac Basket Dordogne and JL Bourg Basket .
French champion was Le Mans Sarthe Basket , who prevailed in the final series against AS Monaco with 3-2 victories. It was the fifth championship win for Le Mans.
