The 2015/16 season was the 23rd season of the French Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro A , the top division in the French men's basketball club . It was the 94th championship in French men's basketball and the 29th championship since the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB) was founded . The main round started on October 3, 2015 and ended on May 10, 2016 with the 34th and final game day. The play-off final round for the championship lasted until June 14, 2016.
Limoges CSP started the season as defending champion . Together with runner-up Strasbourg IG, the master also took part in the ULEB Euroleague 2015/16 . In the 2015/16 Eurocup , the league was represented by the former semi-finalists Le Mans Sarthe Basket and SLUC Nancy Basket , as well as last year's winner of the EuroChallenge, JSF Nanterre .
Newcomers to the 2015/16 season were AS Monaco , who played first class again after a 24-year absence, and Olympique d'Antibes . Monaco was able to complete the main round in first place and advance to the semi-finals of the play-offs.
French champion was ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne , who prevailed in the final series against Strasbourg IG after a 2-0 deficit with 3-2 victories. For Lyon-Villeurbanne it was the eighteenth championship win.
