The 2018/19 season was the 26th season of the French Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro A , the top division in the French men's basketball club . It was the 97th championship in French men's basketball and the 32nd championship since the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB) was founded . The main round started on September 21, 2018 and ended in May 2019 with the 34th and final matchday. The play-off final round for the championship lasted until June 2019.
Le Mans Sarthe Basket started the season as defending champion . With Le Mans, Strasbourg IG , JDA Dijon and Nanterre 92 , four clubs competed in the Basketball Champions League 2018/19 . In addition, three teams started in the EuroCup 2018/19 with ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne , Limoges CSP and AS Monaco .
The team from Fos Provence Basket , which competed in the French first division for the first time, was promoted to the 2018/19 season . Boulazac Basket Dordogne was allowed to remain in the LNB Pro A despite sporting relegation, as no other team from the LNB Pro B was granted a license.
French champions became ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, who prevailed in the final series against AS Monaco with 3-2 wins. For Lyon-Villeurbanne it was the 19th championship win.
