The 2019/20 season is the 27th season of the French Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro A , the top division in the French men's basketball club . It is the 98th championship in French men's basketball and the 33rd championship since the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB) was founded . The main round started on September 20, 2019 and ends in May 2020 with the 34th and final matchday. The play-off final round for the championship lasts until June 2020.

ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne started the season as the defending champion . Lyon-Villeurbanne also competes in the 2019/20 EuroLeague . With Strasbourg IG , JDA Dijon and ÉB Pau-Lacq-Orthez , three clubs are competing in the Basketball Champions League 2019/20 . In addition, with Nanterre 92 , Limoges CSP and AS Monaco, three teams will start in the EuroCup 2019/20 .

The teams Orléans Loiret Basket and Chorale Roanne Basket were promoted for the 2019/20 season .
