Hendrik Schulte (moderator)

Hendrik Schulte (born April 11, 1973 in Gießen ) is a German television presenter and author for radio, television and newspapers.

Life

Schulte was born in Lich, Hesse, ten years later the family moved to Münster in Westphalia . After attending an episcopal school, Hendrik Schulte studied political science , cultural management and sociology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University and graduated in 2003 with a master's degree. During his studies he already worked for the North Rhine-Westphalian local radio station as a reporter and later as a presenter of the morning programs. Parallel to his time on the radio, he then worked for some time as an author and photographer for the Axel Springer Verlag and founded the interview magazine “Stadtgeflüster Münster” with colleagues, which is still published today.

From 2004 to 2006 he worked as an author for the animal magazine Wildeszimmer ( VOX ) in Germany, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. He was then selected by the Institute for the Promotion of Young Journalists (ifp) in Munich for a sponsored TV training program, which was designed by lecturers from ARD and ZDF . After graduating, he worked as a seminar leader and lecturer at ifp for the following years. In the same year he moved to Dortmund, where he began to report as a reporter and author from the Ruhr area for three years at the WDR regional studio in Dortmund, before the Deutsche Welle hired him after a casting as a presenter of the television news. From 2009 to 2012 he moderated the “DW-TV Journal” from Berlin . His involvement with foreign television aroused the interest of WDR television, which shortly afterwards hired him as a presenter for regional television.

Hendrik Schulte has hosted the local time Münsterland on WDR television since 2009 . In between, Schulte also presented the WDR local times from Dortmund and Duisburg as well as the nationwide news program WDR Aktuell, in 2012 he also moved back to Münster.

In addition to English, Hendrik Schulte also speaks Dutch and Italian and, according to his own statement, lives mainly in Münster and in the VW bus.
