Stéphane Ostrowski (born March 17, 1962 in Bron ) is a former French basketball player .
Life
Ostrowski, who measures 2.05 meters, played for 23 years in the French premier league, ProA , and during this time achieved averages of 17.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per match. From 1982 to 1985 he played in Le Mans and then from 1985 to 1992 in Limoges . With the latter team he was national champion in 1988, 1989 and 1990, in 1988 he also won the European Cup Winners' Cup with Limoges. In 1986, 1988, 1989 and 1990, Ostrowski, known for his versatile style of play, his consistency and his professional work ethic, was recognized as the best ProA player. In 1992 he went to Antibes and was national champion with the southern French in 1995. He then played from 1995 to 1998 in Cholet , 1998 and 1999 again in Antibes (cup winners 1998), from 1999 to 2001 in Chalon and from 2001 to 2005 again in Antibes. At the age of 43 he retired from the top French league.
Ostrowski took part in the 1984 Summer Olympics with the national team and scored 10 points per encounter during the tournament. At the 1986 World Cup, he was the best French scorer with an average of 13.4 points per game. He was also at the European Championships in 1985, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993 and 1995 in France. At the EM 1989 he got 24 points per game and was the third best scorer of all players used in this tournament. With 19.3 points per match Ostrowski was at the EM 1987 on the ninth place in the basket hunter list. He was used between December 1983 and February 1996 in a total of 193 international matches.
In the 2005/06 season he coached the then second division Antibes. At Limoges CSP, Ostrowski was responsible for commercial management and marketing from 2007 to 2020.
