Kevin Séraphin (born December 7, 1989 in Cayenne , French Guiana ) is a French basketball player who currently plays for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in China .

Career

Séraphin grew up in French Guiana and started playing basketball at the age of 15. In 2015 he moved to the youth of Poitiers Basket 86 and a year later to Cholet Basket . In Cholet he made his debut in the French league in the 2007/08 season. In the 2010 NBA draft he was initially selected by the Chicago Bulls , but a short time later exchanged for Kirk Hinrich and the draft rights to Uladsimir Weramejenka . In its first year it was only used sporadically. From his sophomore year, Séraphin was a key player in the Wizards rotation. In his third year he scored 9.1 points and 4.4 rebounds .

During the lockout in 2011, Séraphin played for the Spanish first division club Caja Laboral .

Séraphin stayed with the Wizards until 2015. In August 2015 he signed a contract with the New York Knicks . In the 2016/17 season he played for the Indiana Pacers . In 2017 he signed a contract with the Spanish first division club FC Barcelona . Due to a knee injury, the Frenchman had to end the 2017/18 season early, by then he had averaged 10.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in 14 games in the Spanish league.
