The Caja Laboral (full name Caja Laboral Popular Sociedad Cooperativa de Crédito ) is a Spanish credit union with its headquarters in Arrasate , a city in the Basque Country .

history

The bank was founded in 1959 at the suggestion of the Catholic priest José María Arizmendiarrieta to support the cooperative movement in the Basque Country. The credit union belongs to the world's largest cooperative Mondragon Corporation , which is now set up as a global group .
