Pallacanestro Treviso is a basketball club that is based in the northern Italian city of Treviso . The club, founded in 1954, was taken over in 1982 by the fashion group Benetton , which is based in the same region , which is why the club was better known under the name Benetton Treviso . The team played home games in the 5000-person hall PalaVerde (the name refers to the club's color, namely green ).

Pallacanestro Treviso has been one of the most successful clubs in Serie A since the early 1990s . The club was a regular participant in the Euroleague . For the 2006/07 season, however, the club had to struggle with a point deduction of 15 points because they had exceeded the permitted number of players used. Thus, the play-offs were clearly missed and thus for the first time also the qualification for the Euroleague.

At the end of the 2011/12 season, Benetton withdrew as the main sponsor of the men's team, whereupon the club also withdrew from the professional field. Since then, the focus has been on developing new talent.
