Uroš Slokar (born May 14, 1983 in Ljubljana , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian basketball player. Slokar, who can be used in the positions of Power Forward and Center , has been active for the Spanish association Baloncesto Sevilla since 2015 .

Club career

Slokar began his career at KK Geoplin Slovan in Ljubljana before moving to Benetton Treviso in Italy in 2003 . In early 2005, the club, with which he won the 2004 cup , loaned him to Snaidero Cucine Udine , where Slokar received more match practice. He then returned to Treviso and won the Italian championship in 2006 . The year before, selected by the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Draft , he then moved to the NBA together with his teammate Andrea Bargnani , where Slokar was only used sporadically.

From 2007 to 2008 he was active for the Russian club Triumph Lyuberzy before Slokar moved back to Italy. His playing time at Fortitudo Bologna but ended with the relegation of the club from the Lega Basket Serie A . Initially active again in Ljubljana for KK Union Olimpija , Slokar won the Italian cup and championship double with Montepaschi Siena in 2010 , after moving to the Tuscan club in February of that year. In October 2011 Slokar signed a contract with the Spanish representative Bàsquet Manresa in order to move to Italy again for the following season. After a year at the capital club Pallacanestro Virtus Roma , he was again active in Spain for CB Gran Canaria .

Due to an injury to new signing Leon Radošević , Alba Berlin signed Slokar for six weeks in 2013. He then moved to CB Estudiantes in Madrid, where he played for two years.

National team career

Slokar has been part of the Slovenian national basketball team for years and took part in the European Championships in 2005 , 2007 , 2009 , 2011 , 2015 and, as one of the representatives of the host country, in 2013 .
