The Slovenian national basketball team represents Slovenia at international basketball matches.
Since the country gained independence in 1991, the team has participated in every European championship . In 2005 it reached the final round for the first time, which qualified it for the World Cup; there they took 12th place. At the following two World Championships in 2010 and 2014 , the team reached the quarter-finals of the best eight. In 2017 Slovenia became European champions with a final victory against Serbia in Istanbul .
In 2007 and 2010 the team won the Stanković Cup .
