history

In 1965 the best Norwegian basketball players were put together for the first time to form a national team. The first game in the history of the Norwegian national basketball team took place as part of the Polar Cup and was lost to Iceland 39:74. She joined FIBA three years later, in 1968.

In the first few years since it was founded, games were only played against Scandinavian national basketball teams, all of which were lost by 1971. After 30 defeats from 30 games, Norway finally managed their first victory in a friendly match in Hallsberg against a youth team from Sweden . You had no chance against the Swedish men's national team (37:91 and 44: 148).

The Norwegians have never managed to qualify for a major international tournament. The national team's game operations also stopped at times.
