The Scottish national basketball team represents Scotland in men's international basketball games, such as international tournaments and friendly matches.

The team has not yet qualified for any international tournament.

history

The Scottish national basketball team has been a member of FIBA since 1947 and has not yet qualified for a basketball world championship or for the Olympic Games . However, there are two qualifications for European championships . When they first participated in 1951, the Scots were eliminated with 3 defeats in 3 games in the preliminary round. Six years later they failed again in the preliminary round, but won a game against Albania .

As part of the British national team you were qualified for the European Championships in 2009 , 2011 and 2013 . The same goes for the 2012 Olympic Games , where you were automatically placed as the host.

One of the most famous Scottish basketball players was Robert Archibald , who played for the national team for six years and played for two years in the NBA , Orlando Magic , the Memphis Grizzlies and the Phoenix Suns .
