The Albanian national basketball team represents Albania in men's international basketball games, such as international tournaments and friendly matches.

The team has not yet qualified for the Olympic Games or World Championships. It took part twice in European championships.

history

Basketball in Albania developed slowly , also due to the Second World War . In 1946 the Federata Shqiptare e Basketbollit was founded as a national basketball association. A year later, she joined FIBA . This year the Albanian national team started for the first time in a European championship , in which, however, all six games of the preliminary round were lost and eliminated. In the second participation in 1957 you lost all games again. As a result, Albania still played various qualifying rounds, in which one could not qualify for a final round.
