The Slovak national basketball team represents Slovakia in men's international basketball matches, such as international tournaments and friendly matches.
The team has not yet been able to qualify for World Championships, Olympic Games or European Championships.
history
The national team of Slovakia joined FIBA in 1993 . Since then one has not been able to qualify for an international tournament.
From 1935 to 1993 Slovaks played in the Czechoslovak national basketball team , which was European champion in 1946 , six more times second and five more times third in this tournament. After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia , all sports associations in Slovakia were re-established, including the basketball association, which has provided a basketball team since then.
Known players
- Anton Gavel , won four German championships with Brose Baskets and was part of the national team between 2005 and 2015. He has been playing for the German national team since 2015 .
