The Yugoslav national basketball team was with three titles up to its dissolution in 1992 together with the Soviet Union the most successful basketball team at world championships and at the same time the second most successful basketball team, behind the Soviet Union with five titles, at European championships . It is not to be confused with the 1992 newly founded national basketball team of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia .
