The Bosnian-Herzegovinian national basketball team ( Bosnian Košarkaška reprezentacija Bosne i Hercegovine ) is the national selection of Bosnian basketball players . It is determined by the Bosnian basketball association Košarkaški savez Bosne i Hercegovine and represents Bosnia and Herzegovina at international tournaments and friendly matches.

history

After Bosnia and Herzegovina broke away from Yugoslavia during the wars of independence , the Bosnian national team qualified for a European Championship finals for the first time in 1993 . At the 1993 finals in Germany , the team was led by Emir Mutapčić , Sabahudin Bilalović and ex-European champion Mario Primorac and reached the quarter-finals after only two wins in six games because of the better direct comparison . There she finished eighth after three more defeats. This remained the best placement so far, as there were no further victories in another five finals participations until 2011. The impossible qualifications for basketball world championships or Olympic games. At the EM 2011 , two final round victories were achieved in an expanded field of participants - against the former Yugoslav republics of Croatia and Montenegro . After a clear defeat against Finland 64:92, Bosnia-Herzegovina missed the qualification for the intermediate round of the 16 best teams due to the poorer direct comparison.
