Gordan Firić (born September 1, 1970 in Vareš , Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a former Bosnian basketball player .

Career

At the age of 19 Firic signed his first professional contract with Bosna Sarajevo , where he stayed until 1993. 1991-92 he reached the final of the FR Yugoslav Cup with Bosna (lost to Partizan 105-79).

In the summer of 1993 Firic signed with the Italian team Basket Napoli from Naples . He then stayed in the Italian league until 2000 with Auxilium Pallacanestro Torino , Basket Modena , Stefanel Triest and Aurora Jesi . Over the course of six Italian seasons and 129 games, Firic averaged 17.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.9 assists.

2000-01 he wore the jersey of Aris Thessaloniki , with whom he completed 23 games, with an average of 7.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists. After a short move to ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne , he moved to the German Basketball Löwen Braunschweig , where he stayed until the 2003/04 season.

After only six games for Jesi at the end of the 2003/04 season, Firić returned to Braunschweig for the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons.

After two brief experiences in Switzerland and Finland , he ended his career in his first team, Bosna Sarajevo .

Firić played with the Bosnian national team from 1993 to 2006, taking part in four European basketball championships ; best result was eighth place in 1993.

After completing his active career, Firić moved to Italy , where he has been working mostly as a youth coach at Basket Rimini Crabs since 2007 .
