Auxilium Pallacanestro Torino was an Italian basketball club from Turin .

history

The club was founded in 1966 and played its first season in the highest Italian basketball league, Serie A , in 1974/75 . The direct relegation was followed by three years in Serie B before advancing again. Between 1979 and 1989 the club established itself in Serie A and played in this for ten years. This period has been by far the most successful in the club's history. In 1982, as well as between 1984 and 1986, the semi-finals of the play-offs for the championship were reached four times. Each one was lost, three times alone they lost to Olimpia Milano . In addition, the team failed three times in the quarterfinals.

As a result, the team's performance deteriorated. After relegation in 1989 there were three more seasons in Serie A. The 1992/93 season was the last for Turin in the top division. From then on, the game was played in the second division or lower classes. In 2007 the association disbanded.

In 2015, the club PMS Torino, which had been promoted to Serie A, took over the name Auxilium Pallacanestro Torino. In 2018 they won the first Italian title with the cup competition in the cup final against Brescia . At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Larry Brown was hired as head coach, but he resigned from office in December 2018 after only four wins. In May 2019, eight points of the current season were deducted from the club due to unpaid social contributions and income taxes, which resulted in relegation from Serie A. In the same month they filed for bankruptcy.
