The Belarusian national basketball team for men represents Belarus in national basketball games for men, such as international tournaments and friendly matches.

The team has not yet been able to qualify for World Championships, Olympic Games or European Championships. It is nowhere near as successful as its counterpart among women, who at least made it into the “ Top Ten ” of the FIBA world rankings in continental competitions for medals and as of 2016 .

The Belarus national team joined FIBA in 1992 .

Before that, Belarusian players played in the national basketball team of the USSR .

Known players

  • Uladsimir Weramejenka , played for various Russian top teams and won the ULEB Eurocup . Currently active at UNICS Kazan .
  • Ivan Edeshko, won gold once with the USSR at the Olympics, was once world and twice European champion.
