The Banvit Basketbol Kulübü is a professional Turkish basketball club from Bandırma . Banvit is a regular participant in various European club competitions.

history

Banvit BK was founded in 1994 by the employees of Banvit, a meat company in Bandırma. In 2001 the club rose to the second Turkish league. Three years later, Banvit won the second division and rose to the first division. The best result at national level was reaching the semi-finals of the Turkish play-offs four times, including the last three years (2010–2012) three times in a row. Since its first season in the EuroChallenge in 2005/06 , Banvit has played regularly in one of the three largest European competitions. Here the best result was reaching the round of 16 in the 2011/12 Eurocup .
