Trabzonspor Medical Park Basketbol Külübü is the basketball department of the Turkish sports club Trabzonspor . The division, which was founded in 2008, has played first-class as a professional team in the Türkiye Basketbol Ligi since 2014 and has twice won the championship in the Türkiye Basketbol 2nd Ligi. In 2015 Trabzonspor reached the Final Four of the EuroChallenge , in which they came second.

history

founding

A basketball club was founded for the first time in 1967 after American NATO soldiers made the sport known in Trabzon. After that, the club has been active three times until it was founded in 2005. In 2005 the club was founded with the players and technical staff from İdmanocağı and took part in the EBBL (Turkish Regional Men's Basketball League). With the purchase of the Alpella club in 2008, the rights to play in the TB2L were acquired.
