Vlatko Čančar (born April 10, 1997 in Koper ) is a Slovenian basketball player .

career

In his home country Slovenia, Čančar was trained at SD Kos Koper, then at Union Olimpija Ljubljana . He came to Union Olimpija for first division appearances, sometimes he was loaned to the second division LTH Castings Skofja Loka to gain additional gaming experience. He continued his career with the Serbian club BC Mega Leks. When Draft method of NBA in 2017 the rights to Čančar went in the second selection round (49th place) to the Denver Nuggets , but initially did not receive the players in their squad. He stayed with Mega Leks, in March 2018 the Slovenian moved to the Spanish first division club San Pablo Burgos in the ACB league . After good performances in Spain (10.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per use in the 2018/19 season) and after Čančar also impressed in the shirt of the Slovenian national team, the Denver Nuggets signed the winger in August 2019.

National team

In 2017 he became European champion with the Slovenian national team. Čančar scored an average of 2.4 points per game in nine matches during the European Championship.
