Mason Alexander Plumlee (born March 5, 1990 in Fort Wayne , Indiana ) is an American basketball player who is currently under contract with the Denver Nuggets in the NBA .

Career

Like his brother Miles , Mason Plumlee also played for Duke University and won the 2010 NCAA championship.

In the 2013 NBA Draft , the Brooklyn Nets ranked 22nd . Plumlee immediately took on an important role with the Nets, scoring 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in his first year . He hit 65.9% of the field, which is an exceptionally good number. For these services he was appointed to the NBA All-Rookie First Team .

Plumlee was a member of the US team that won the gold medal at the 2014 World Basketball Championship in Spain.

On draft day 2015 , Plumlee was transferred to the Portland Trail Blazers . In return, the draft rights to Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and veteran Steve Blake moved to Brooklyn. After a year and a half with the Blazers, Plumlee was transferred to the Denver Nuggets in February 2017 for Jusuf Nurkić .

Personal

Mason Plumlee has two brothers who are also basketball players. Miles was selected by the Indiana Pacers in the 2012 NBA Draft and plays for the Atlanta Hawks . His youngest brother Marshall also played for Duke University and only sporadically in the NBA.
