The 2019-20 NBA season marks the National Basketball Association's 74th season . The regular season began on October 22, 2019. The end of the regular season was originally scheduled for April 15, 2020, before the postseason should begin on April 18, 2020 .

After the games of March 11, 2020, the game time was interrupted until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic , after Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz tested positive for the virus and the game between Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz was canceled at short notice has been. It will be resumed on July 30th as part of the 2020 NBA Bubble safety concept developed by the NBA and will be played to the end.

On June 5, 2019, Vince Carter announced his intention to retire after the 2019-20 season ended.

On June 24th there was an exchange between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Atlanta Hawks , in the course of which Portland Kent Bazemore , Atlanta Evan Turner got.

Several significant changes took place on July 6th:

In a 3-team trade, Anthony Davis moved to the Los Angeles Lakers . In return, Lonzo Ball , Brandon Ingram , Josh Hart and several draft picks were sent to the New Orleans Pelicans . The Washington Wizards also involved in the exchange received, among others, the Germans Isaac Bonga and Moritz Wagner from Los Angeles.
Kemba Walker was traded by Charlotte Hornets for Terry Rozier to the Boston Celtics .

On July 7th, Kevin Durant was sent to the Brooklyn Nets by the Golden State Warriors . In return, the Warriors got D'Angelo Russell, among others .

On July 10th, Paul George joined the Los Angeles Clippers; his previous club, Oklahoma City Thunder , received Danilo Gallinari , Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and several draft picks.

On July 16, Houston Rockets traded Chris Paul for Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
