However, since the Warriors lost the final against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs , and gave up more games on the way, their overall balance was 88:18.
Pat Riley became the new head coach of the Miami Heat . The Heat, which had been unsuccessful in the last few seasons, was strengthened by Riley with Alonzo Mourning and Tim Hardaway . The heat then improved by 10 wins compared to the previous year and reached the playoffs.
