Brent Robert Barry (born December 31, 1971 in Hempstead , New York ) is a retired American basketball player . Between 1995 and 2009 he played in the US professional league NBA , mostly in the position of shooting guard . He is one of four sons of Hall of Famer Rick Barry who, like their father, became professional basketball players. The other sons are Scooter Barry , Jon Barry and Drew Barry .
In the NBA, he played with the Los Angeles Clippers (1995-1998), Miami Heat (1998), Chicago Bulls (1999), Seattle SuperSonics (1999-2004), San Antonio Spurs (2004-2008) and the Houston Rockets (2008 until 2009).
Career
Barry was a player at Oregon State University from 1991 to 1995 . He studied sociology there . Achieved following the 1994-95 season, in which he for the high school team, on average, 21 points, 5.9 rebounds thumbed, were 3.9 and 2.7 templates basket ball gains recorded each encounter, he was in 1995 by the Denver Nuggets 15 . In late January 1999, Barry was signed by the Chicago Bulls . In mid-April of the same year it was transferred to Seattle SuperSonics . In Seattle, Barry reached in the 2001/02 season with an average of 14.4 points, the best mean of his NBA career.
During the summer break of 2004, Barry was signed by the San Antonio Spurs . With the Texans he won two NBA championships ( 2005 and 2007 ). Brent and Rick Barry became only the second father-son duo to each win an NBA title as a player. The first were Matt Guokas Sr. and his son Matt Guokas Jr.
Barry won the 1996 Slam Dunk Contest at the NBA All-Star Weekend with a Michael Jordan- style dunking , in which he jumped off the free throw line and stuffed the ball into the basket with one hand.
Brent hit 40.5 percent of his three-point throws during his NBA tenure and scored a total of 1,344 threesomes. His NBA maximum was 31 points in one game, which he achieved twice. In March 2004 against Atlanta and in March 2006 against Portland Barry hit seven three-point throws each.

In addition to a few short appearances in television series (such as Diagnosis - Murder ) Brent Barry had a small role in 1996 as the fictional athlete Calvin Nack in the movie Jerry Maguire .
Barry has two children with his wife Erin: Quinn (* 2001) and Cade (* 2006).
Following his playing career, Barry worked as an expert on television broadcasts of basketball games, and in 2018 he became an assistant manager on the executive board of the San Antonio Spurs.
